REGISTRATION PROCEDURES

PLEASE complete the registration form in full: Name, I.D., Program, courses (ELEC 6181/4 WW), signature, and email address.

Students can register for a maximum of 3 courses per semester.

MASc and Ph.D. STUDENTS:

Courses must be approved by your Supervisor PRIOR to registration.

M.ENG STUDENTS:

Permission from the Graduate Program Director - PRIOR to registration - is required for:

  1. Registering for courses with a GPA below 3.0
  2. Courses taken outside at another University within Quebec
  3. All Engineering Project courses: ENGR 6971, 6981 and 6991.

7000-LEVEL COURSES

M.Eng. students are permitted to register for 7000-level courses provided they have completed the required pre-requisite. There will be no exceptions to this requirement.

AUDIT COURSES

Students in the M.Eng. program are NOT permitted to audit courses. Students in MASc and Ph.D. programs may audit a course only at the end of the registration period.


1. COURSES TAKEN WITHOUT THE PRE-REQUISITE

Students must have the approval of the course instructor prior to registration.

2. COURSES TAKEN FROM OUTSIDE THE DEPARTMENT

PLEASE NOTE: M.A.Sc. and M.Eng. students are permitted to take a maximum of 2 courses from outside their discipline. Ph.D. students are permitted to take ONE course outside of their discipline.

For all courses in Mechanical and Industrial Engr., Building/Civil/Environmental Engr., Concordia Institute for Information Systems Engr., and MBA: students must complete a separate registration form, and submit the form to Diane Moffat (MASc and M.Eng.) or Pam Fox (Ph.D).

For Computer Science courses: students must complete a separate registration form, attach a copy of their Master’s transcript as well as their bachelor’s transcript, get approval from Diane Moffat or Pam Fox, and bring the form to Halina Monkiewicz in Computer Science Department, EV-3rd Floor.

3. COURSES TAKEN AT ANOTHER UNIVERSITY IN QUEBEC

Courses taken at another university are considered as courses outside the discipline. PhD Students are permitted to take ONE course outside their discipline. MASc Students are permitted to take a maximum of 2 courses from outside their discipline. Students must go online to the following website: www.crepuq.qc.ca

4. ENGINEERING PROJECT COURSES (ENGR 6971, 6981, 6991)

Students wanting to register for an Engineering Project (ENGR 6971, 6981, 6991) must have the “Project and Report Request Form” signed by the project supervisor AND must have approval from the GPD prior to registration. Students cannot register for a project in the first year of study. Note: MASc and Ph.D. may not register for projects.

5. REGISTERING FOR COURSES WITH A GPA BELOW 3.0

To remain in good standing a student must maintain a GPA of 3.0. Permission is required from the GPD to register if the student’s GPA is below 3.0.
