The Department’s specialized undergraduate and graduate programs are among the best available in North America.
We offer undergraduate programs in Computer Engineering and Electrical Engineering, both of which are accredited by the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board (CEAB). Our Electrical Engineering B.Eng. program offers two options: Telecommunications and Electronics/Systems, while our Computer Engineering B.Eng. program offers options in Systems Hardware and Systems Software. Our undergraduate programs provide a solid theoretical foundation, state of the art applications and excellent laboratories. We offer co-operative education in all our undergraduate programs and options, enabling students to work off campus in their field for competitive remuneration. At present about 600 students are enrolled in our undergraduate programs.
At the graduate level we have both a course and thesis Master’s program and a Ph.D. program. The course Master’s program allows students to take courses at their own pace in a large variety of advanced and specialized topics. In our thesis programs students work one-on-one with a faculty member in cutting-edge research. Competitive support is generally provided to thesis students. About 500 graduate students are currently enrolled in our programs and carry out their research in modern laboratories and offices located throughout nine floors of the EV building.
We continue to be proud of the fact that our faculty members are widely recognized for their superior research and scholarship. Our faculty members are routinely successful in securing external funding, and are greatly involved in outside professional activities. Among the Department’s 39 faculty, six administrative and eight technical staff members there are three IEEE Fellows, three winners of the Faculty and University Teaching Excellence Awards, one recipient of the ENCS Staff Excellence Award, and a Hydro Quebec Research Chair in the area of power electronics.
We at Concordia are continually striving to provide the best educational opportunities in order to prepare our students to meet tomorrow’s academic and societal challenges. A testament to this pledge is that many of our graduates have and continue to be highly successful in securing employment with industrial leaders throughout North America and abroad.
Good Luck!
